Computers made obsolete?

by admin on May 26, 2010

Absolutely not. No matter how good the iPhone or other smart phones become, or how cheap mobile phone deals are, there’s no way a mobile palm top piece of technology will ever replace a powerful desktop or laptop computer when it comes to having full control over what’s going on online.

But that doesn’t mean that they are completely without use. The freedom that you can get by daily use of an iPhone, for example, will make you happy that you can accomplish simple functions like checking your e-mail, making money transfers and every kind of banking. The freedom you’ll have makes up well for the lack of functionality compared to an ordinary desktop computer.

And recently some very cool apps for the iPhone and the iTouch have surfaced that can make you change the way you look at these mobile devices. Asides from the normal, practically “vanilla” things you can do, there are now some apps that will allow you to step up the level of control you have over your phone and your computer. There are now apps that allow you to remotely access your computer through your phone. Other apps will turn your phone into a virtual Telnet client, ping servers and perform WHOIS queries. All on your phone.
