Web hosting resellers is a type of cheap web hosting service but instead of owning all the bandwidth and hard drive space, the owner has the capability to use the appointed space on their hard drives and bandwidth on behalf of other third parties. Most resellers usually purchase a wholesale host service and then sell them to end users for an amount of profit and a particular amount of bandwidth and hard drive is divided among the resellers account. Many resellers will rent out a dedicated server from a hosting service company or they may also opt to sell a shared hosting service to the end users.
If they rent a dedicated server then they have the freedom to rent out any amount of space to their users. However, if they opt to resell someone else’ hosting service, they will first need to sign up as a reseller with the web hosting company. They will then be given the permission sell an allocated amount of web space without having to rent the web space first. Being in the reseller hosting service does not really require one to have a thorough knowledge on the technological aspect of web hosting. Data operators are usually responsible for maintaining the networking hardware and infrastructure and the owner of the dedicated server updates, secures, and configures the server. Resellers set up and manage the accounts for their customers through a web interface that is usually referred to as “Control Panels”.
